I’ve only been Tumbling for a few days and I was surprised to see that the post which received the most attention was a photo of the Who. Therefore, just as I posted the best Beach Boys track not by the Beach Boys, here’s the best Who song that they never recorded. Written by Eric Carmen for the Raspberries fourth and final studio recording (Starting Over), this does an amazing job of recreating the sound, fury and teenage angst that ordinarily required Pete Townshend to succeed. They even do a good job of capturing Keith Moon’s amazing drumming style. If you Who fans have never heard this, you’re in for a treat.
